Freycinet Storm
Freycinet National Park : : Tasmania, Australia

I’ve often avoided shooting in difficult weather, worrying about my equipment and the investment I’ve made into it.

When we got to Freycinet National Park, we were met with some angry clouds and high winds. In fact the next morning, two boats had ripped from their moorings and been washed ashore by the storm

I waded into the salty sea water to get the photo above and then spend another couple hours washing and drying my tripod so that it wouldn’t suffer any ill effects. Due to the long exposure and high winds, the filter on the front slowly got covered with sea spray, but I think it ended up helping making this photo different than my usual stuff.

This photograph is available for purchase as a print.
