That’s the spot

Just like my last seal photo (no not this seal) I have no idea if it is a New Zealand Fur Seal or an Australian Sea Lion.

I guess you don’t need to know to take the photo. What you do need, is a way to get to the seals and a person to show you where they are. Luckily I had both.

I had been staying with Dan and his family on the KI Olives farm doing some wwoofing and he decided we should have a morning off and go fishing. The fishing is great around KI and we caught heaps of fish including the well regarded King George Whiting. Dan knew that I was a photographer and decided to show us (me and another wwoofer) a small cover where seals usually relaxed and sunned themselves. We got to be very close without disturbing them and I was able to fire off a few shots (or a lot of shots if you ask Dan).

Here’s one where our friend had an itch that just had to be scratched!
